Robyn Denholm is a leading global technology executive. Robyn is the Chair of the Board of Directors of Tesla, Inc., Chair and Founder of TreeArc Investment Group (TreeArc), Chair and majority owner of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), Board Director of Blackbird Ventures, and a Board Advisor to several leading Australian technology companies.
Robyn joined Tesla’s Board in 2014 as an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit Committee. She was appointed Independent Chair of the Board in November 2018, and was re-elected in 2020 and 2024.
In January 2021, Robyn became an Operating Partner at Blackbird Ventures, where she worked with founders of later-stage technology companies to help them scale and succeed. In 2024, she transitioned to the Board of Directors of Blackbird Ventures.
Robyn is also actively championing the Australian technology sector and was the inaugural Chair of the Australian Tech Council, which launched in 2021, and served as a Board Director until 2025. She also chaired the expert panel that reviewed the Strategic Examination into R&D in Australia and published in March 2026 the Ambitious Australia report.
Robyn has a career of over 40 years, and served as COO, CFO, and Head of Strategy at Telstra, as well as Executive Vice President, CFO, and COO at Juniper Networks, Inc. She also held executive roles at Sun Microsystems and Toyota Australia and began her career at Arthur Andersen & Co.
Robyn was awarded a Doctor of Business (Honoris Causa) by UNSW in 2019. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sydney, and a Master’s degree in Commerce from the University of New South Wales. Robyn is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
